Mad Dog Mcrea to team up with Komedia Bath for exclusive live-streamed gig

Posted on: 05 Aug 2020

The renowned folk-rockers are all set to broadcast a live performance to homes across Bath and beyond.

Westcountry favourites Mad Dog Mcrea have announced plans to play an exclusive live-streamed gig this month, broadcasting from Bath Komedia on Friday 14 August.

Renowned up and down the country for their raucous live shows, the band's upcoming gig will be their second foray into lockdown live streams, following well-received performances broadcasted on their Facebook page back in May.

With plans in place for a full-scale live show, tickets are strictly limited and early booking is advised. Find out more and book your tickets here.

Singing songs of adventure, drinking, love and life, Mad Dog Mcrea never fail to get audiences moving with their infectious energy, busy instrumentation and witty lyricism.

The band mix folk-rock with pop, gypsy jazz, bluegrass and much more to create a genuinely unique sound, and a one-of-a-kind live experience. If someone you know has seen Mad Dog Mcrea live in the past, we'd bet you'll have heard about it at one point or another.

Having played just about every festival across the South West of England over the years, as well as countless gigs up and down the UK, the band are undoubtedly an established live act.

Their acclaimed back catalogue spans five full-length studio albums, supported by an impressively loyal fanbase that seems to show up and get down no matter where they take the stage.

Lockdown and the closure of clubs and live venues across the UK have disrupted the usual order of things for Mad Dog Mcrea, a band used to spending their summers making memories and geeing up crowds on a regular basis.

Made up of Michael Mathieson on guitar and lead vocals, Dan Crimp on whistles and flute, bassist John Stopporton, Dave Podmore on the banjo, drummer Pete Chart and Nicki Powell on the fiddle, the band are taking their eclectic sound back to cyberspace this month.

Performing live at Komedia Bath on Friday 14 August, expect a virtual party like no other as Mad Dog Mcrea play their first gig in almost three months.

Tickets for the gig cost £9 and can be found here. Live stream times and viewing options will be sent upon purchase. For more information head to the Komedia Bath website.
