Matt Forde and Garrett Millerick at Komedia on Sunday 14th July 2019

You'll be rolling in the aisles when two of the UK's premiere funsters - Matt Forde and Garrett Millerick - take to the stage of Komedia in Bath on Sunday 14th July 2019, ahead of their highly anticipated gigs at Edinburgh Fringe later in the year.

You'll probably recognise Matt Forde from the likes of shows such as Mock the Week, The One Show and Question Time, and he's a man with his finger on the pulse of current topical issues. Political, satirical, and deftly blending news-of-the-moment topics with uncanny impressions (plus, we're promised, a smattering of extra Trump) he is, of course on top of all that, supremely funny. The Telegraph has hailed him as "Possibly the best political comedy show on the Fringe", and lauded by The Guardian as "A first-class comic"  - and now you'll get the chance to see him live in the city.

Garret Millerick similarly knows how to tickle those funny bones. An acclaimed comedian, writer and director, he's making waves on the UK giggle-making circuit, having cut his teeth in a plethora of competitions and now cemented his reputation as one of the finest comedy acts of his generation. His 2018 show Sunflower got the tongues of comedy lovers wagging and was one of the most talked about and critically acclaimed shows of the year (it enjoyed a successful run again in February at London's Soho Theatre). And as well as being a regular at some of the UK's most prestigious comedy clubs he's also spread the chortles with weekend appearances at the world-famous Comedy Store. The Scotsman revered him as "Wickedly funny"; The Sunday Times, a "stand-up with an insolent twist".

This double-act of mirth-meisters is a marvelous chance to see two of the UK's finest and funniest comedians take to the stage of one of Bath's preeminent venues ahead of their appearances at The Edinburgh Fringe Festival in August. Of course, to comedy aficionados, the Fringe needs no introduction, taking over said city with a dazzling, buzzing mix of comedy, arts, theatre, music, kids' events and dance.

The event will be unreserved rowed seating, so if you want the best seats it's advisable to turn up early (all the more reason to tip up a few hours before to enjoy a pre-comedy beverage or two). It's an age 16+ gig. Doors open at 7pm for a 7.30pm start.  Tickets cost £9 advance and you can snap 'em up here.

Komedia Bath is located at 22-23 Westgate Street, Bath, BA1 1EP. Tel. 01225 489070
