Few food and drink combos are as heartily satisfying as pie and ale - and historic eating house Sally Lunn's will be holding its own tribute to that excellent pastry-encased and beverage double act with a special Pie & Ale Evening on Tuesday 30th April 2019.

The homemade pies have had many a Bath gastronaut positively raving, so, if you haven't chomped into one of their lovingly made savoury delights, now's your chance to see what all the fuss is about.

Sally Lunns Bath

Held in Bath's oldest house, the delicious pies will be served with fine flagons of their own thirst-quenching pale ale that have equally had the city's beer aficionados slurping with joyful, hedonistic glee.

Served daily after 5pm, what more could you want after a hard day's graft than to tuck into this terrific twosome? Not a lot, we'd guess. Pies will include lamb in rich red wine and rosemary; steak and mushroom; Sandridge sausage, fennel and sage; and a rich 'meaty' vegan pie (it tastes meaty but has no meat) - all served with lashings of rich gravy and their special rich thyme mash.

But remember, because they make them fresh, once they're gone they're gone, so if there's any particular pie that's got your salivating and you want to reserve for when you pop in, email them at pieandale@sallylunns.co.uk

Steeped in history, history, Sally Lunn's historic tea and eating house is like stepping back in time, with the first floor evoking a mid-1700s feel and the second that of the early 1800s, complete with handmade wallpaper. There's a kitchen museum too.

Grab your knife and fork, fill up your tankard and get stuck in to this devilishly irresistible duo. You can find out more about Sally Lunn's Historic Eating House here.
