DJ Sets & Vinyl Sessions running throughout April and May at The Bell Inn

Posted on: 20 Apr 2019

Much-loved and award-winning historic Bath boozer, The Bell Inn, continues its popular, ongoing series of DJ sets throughout April and May and beyond.

The Bell Inn, Bath.

The free house and music pub on the edge of the city continues to attract some of the very best DJ talent around, guaranteed to liven your nights with a roster of top vinyl tuneage and the perfect soundtrack between the real ale sipping.

The first Thursday of every month sees Zackie Chan work his magic from 8pm, while Fridays unleashes Mick RPM for a wicked line-up of 'all vinyl, all styles' and tunes from Paragon Sounds from 5pm until 8pm. The second and last Friday of the month bestows the excellence of DJs Def Goldblum and Roamin' Hands, and every third Friday you're treated to the R&D sessions with Rodders and Djangophatt

But hold your horses, that's not all. Oh no, Sir; we haven't even covered the weekend yet, which on Saturdays proffers Bruno & Mick's Saturday Shuffle from 3pm until 6pm with an eclectic combo of old and new selections plus a few surprise ones too.  From 8pm there are special featured guests.

Your vinyl fix also carries well on into Sunday with The Human Jukebox from 6.30pm, where aficionados of the resurrected and back-in-fashion format (although did it ever really go OUT of fashion?) can bring in their own records to drop the stylus alongside host DJ Spinner.

All vinyl all the time at The Bell Inn.

DJ Sets at The Bell is only a smidgen of many of the other main attractions at this cracking pub, which also presents live music every Sunday, Monday and Wednesday, and an Open Mic Night every Thursday from 8pm.  Add to this a sensational range of perfectly kept real ales (seven regular, two guests and supporting local, independent breweries) and it's easy to see why the venue has nabbed a clutch of prestigious awards including Bath Chronicle Pub of the Year 2014, Bath Life Awards Winner 2014, CAMRA Bath and Borders Pub of the Year 2014, and ranked as one of the Top Three Pubs in Bath in 2015.

And if all that wasn't enough, you can heartily quaff and further keep yourself entertained (by the cosy real fire during the colder months) with a selection of games such as bar billiards, table football, chess, pool, backgammon, and - for those whose smartphones are an inseparable appendage - the obligatory free wi-fi. There's even a launderette (nope, we're not kidding).

Still not enough? Well, how about The Pizza Bike who takes over the garden every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 5pm until 9.30pm and Sunday from 12pm until 7pm, serving up first-rate doughy discs of deliciousness - amazing wood-fired 10" sourdough pizzas on a bike. NOTE: Pizza awesomeness won't be happening on 20th and 27th April though.

With all this going on, it's a miracle anyone ever leaves. But that's what's made this world-famous free house and live music venue one of the best in, not just Bath, but on the planet. They know what they do and they do it well, and its exemplary mix of DJ sets, live bands, open mic nights, fabulous food and excellent real ales are what has kept it top of the go-to boozer list in Bath.
