Henry V at Ustinov Studio in Bath

Posted on: 12 Jun 2018

From Thursday 21st June to Saturday 21st July, the Ustinov Studio in Bath will host a production of Henry V from acclaimed Bristolian theatre company, Shakespeare at the Tobacco Factory

One of Shakespeare’s most famous works, Henry V tells the story of the young English King waging war on France and the consequences of his decisions for his subjects. It explores themes of class, power, leadership and heroism. The key message of the play lies rooted in the responsibility that figures of authority have for those that they lead.

‘Every subject’s duty is the king’s, but every subject’s soul is his own.’

Performances will be Monday to Saturday at 7.45pm; with Matinees being Wednesday and Saturday afternoons at 2.30pm. This will be the theatre company’s first visit to the Ustinov. The run will be followed by a stint at Tobacco Factory in Bristol from 12th September to the 6th October before it embarks on a national tour.

Henry V will be played by Ben Hall, whose theatre credits include productions of Coriolanus, Salome and Twelfth Night. He has also made various TV and film appearances, including The Durrells, The Hollow Crown and A Royal Night Out.
