Jazz in the Garden fundraising event for Dorothy House Hospice Care

Posted on: 19 May 2018

Are you a Jazz fan? Or enjoy relaxing in the garden? Or both? Well this is the event for you. On Sunday 17th June from 3pm-6pm, Dorothy House Hospice Care are holding a Jazz in the Garden event to raise essential funds for their work in providing care for patients, their families and carers.

The beautiful gardens of Rowley Grange will provide the setting for the event.

Taking place in the stunning gardens of Rowley Grange in Farleigh Hungerford, and kindly hosted by Lord and lady MacLaurin, the event will see a live performance on the grounds from The Lawley Wade Quintet. Tickets for the event are £16, and there will also be drinks and strawberries and cream on offer.

Last year's event raised £1,300 for the hospice, and the organisers will hope that this year's event can do even better. The Lawley Wade Quintet will be performing jazz from the American Songbook and hot and cold drinks and cakes will also be available to purchase.  Parking is available, the garden has disabled access but no dogs are allowed. Please wear suitable clothing for the weather and bring a blanket or folding chair.

Rowley Grange was originally a 17th Century barn that was converted into the current house in the 1920’s following a fire. The gardens were designed by landscape architect, Harold Peto, who also designed Iford Manor gardens, and his initials can be found on one of two gazebo’s at the bottom of the garden.
