This flowery extravaganza will include an exhibition from Fassett and Bahouth lasting from May to September, as well as a series of talks and tours to accompany it. Both Fassett and Bahouth have their work featured permanently in the Victoria and Albert Museum in London and are internationally celebrated artists.

Kaffe Fassett is known worldwide for his talent with textiles and expertise in colour. Born in San Francisco in 1937, he spent his earlier years in Big Sur - a creative community in California. He later moved to Bath and was inspired by quilts in the American Museum. His work is born from a combination of mixed media including needlework, patchwork, knitting, painting and ceramics.

Fassett said of the show - “Since colour is my obsession in art, I am fascinated by flowers as a subject. This show celebrates my recent book on the floral world called Bold Blooms.”

Fassett’s accompanying talk on ‘Colour and Inspiration’ will be at the Assembly Rooms in Bath on Wednesday 25 July, located at Bennett St, Bath, BA1 2QH. Tickets for this are available at £12.00/ £11.00 concessions from Bath Box Office here.

Candace Bahouth’s recent work focuses mainly on ceramic pieces. After graduating with a degree in Fine Art she settled in rural Somerset and has since written several books about needlepoint design. Her main focus has transitioned from tapestry to mosaics in more recent years.

Bahouth will give a free lunchtime talk on Wednesday 27th June from 1.10pm-1.45pm at The Guildhall, Bath. This is located at High St, City Centre, Bath, BA1 5AW.

“My encrusted mosaics are inspired by nature, ceramics and textiles. Come and be immersed. Escape, dream, reflect…in a world of fantasy, pattern, colour and delight!” - Candace Bahouth
