It was supposed to be a fun night out at the cinema for Meredith and Pip. But Meredith hated the film and Pip didn’t.  Now it’s turned into an argument – the perfect opportunity to share their differences.

With their marriage at breaking point, they turn to their respective friends, Jane and Tony. But maybe Jane likes Pip a little too much and maybe Tony doesn’t like Meredith enough.

After thirty six years of marriage, surely Meredith’s parents Chloe and Frank, can advise. But maybe they don’t like any of them or each other. Will the argument tear them all apart?

Best-selling novelist and screenwriter William Boyd’s darkly funny play is a blistering look at the complexities of human relationships and how arguments can provide a catalyst for brutal honesty.

One of the UK’s best-loved actresses, Felicity Kendal plays the role of Chloe. Having shot to fame in The Good Life, Felicity Kendal has won numerous awards for her stage work. Recent visits to Bath have included Relatively Speaking, Hay Fever and A Room with a View.

William Boyd ’s multi award-winning novels include A Good Man in Africa, Any Human Heart, An Ice Cream War, Restless, and, his most recent, Love is Blind. His stage work includes Longing, an adaptation of two Chekhov short stories.

Director Christopher Luscombe has worked extensively in both the UK and internationally. His recent credits include The Nightingales and Nell Gwynn, winner of the 2016 Olivier Award for Best New Comedy.
